On Saturday March
28th CCRA will be holding a special social evening “Dancing
Thru the Ages” to help mark our 60th anniversary as a
community association.
The
evening will feature performances by championship dancers, dancing to live
music, fun and food. Events Chair Heather Lemieux and others on the
executive have been working hard to make this a great evening. More
details are contained elsewhere in this newsletter. Get a group together
and plan to attend and help celebrate this anniversary. To obtain tickets
contact Heather or any of the executive.
On
January 20th Toronto Hydro Energy Services held a second public
meeting at Laurier Collegiate regarding their proposal to install an
anemometer in Lake Ontario. The anemometer will take readings over the
next 2 years to help determine the suitability of the offshore location
for the installation of up to 60 wind turbines. This latest meeting was
attended by about 600 people. Since this meeting I have been contacted by
several individuals who represent communities along the waterfront. Some
are very concerned about this proposal and have expressed their concerns
to the Mayor and the president of Toronto Hydro. You may wish to access
the following web sites for more information and details on this proposal.
