CCRA President
Posted Sept. 2007 On Thursday October 18th we will be holding our Annual General Meeting. Last year due to a lack of attendance, we were unable to hold elections as we did not have a quorum. I sincerely hope this does not occur again this year. When there are no controversial issues in a community it is easy to sit back and rely on others to get involved. However there continue to be important issues that require community input. Community events that are held throughout the year are the result of people devoting time to make them happen. We need your attendance at this meeting to hear your input on community issues that matter to you. Please plan to attend, give us your views, opinions and get involved. Annual General Meeting 7:30 p.m. Thursday October 18th, 2007 Port Union Recreation Centre Our quarterly meeting of the Waterfront Trail Working Committee scheduled for September was cancelled. The next meeting will be held in early December. In the meantime Nancy Gaffney Waterfront Specialist, at Toronto Region Conservation Authority has issued an update on the Waterfront Trail. Nancy’s comments are summarized below.
Plans are in place for work on Phase 2of the Waterfront Trail from the GO station to the Rouge River. Work will not commence on this section until all 5 remaining private properties in this section have been acquired. Steps are being undertaken by TRCA to acquire these properties in a timely, satisfactory manner so work can get underway on this section in early 2008.
Hope to see you at our Annual General Meeting
