I am
pleased to announce that we did have a quorum at this year’s Annual
General Meeting held on Thursday October 16th. As a result we
were able to elect an executive for 2009. The results are:

Lemieux, Marilyn Hodge, Patricia Cruikshank, Mike Toumaiuolo, Adele
Pugliese, Neil O’Brien, Jake Forsyth, Betty Karsh, Chris Welch, Junior
Ward, Gus Klisouras, and Kelsey Dorval.
Welcome
to the new members of the executive as well as those returning for another
year. Transportation Chair, Mike White decided not to seek
reelection for 2009. On behalf of the association I want to thank Mike
for his many years serving on the executive. His contribution to the
betterment of our community is greatly appreciated.
On Sunday
October 5th I attended a memorial service for Bill Dempsey held
at Centennial Rouge United Church. Bill’s wife Evelyn was in attendance
along with several elected representatives and many of his friends from
our community. I spoke on behalf of the CCRA, recognizing Bill’s
significant and long time contribution to our community.
You will
notice in this month’s newsletter that Newsletter Distribution Chair Adele
Pugliese has put out a request for distributors on a number of streets.
As Adele has indicated if we do not get volunteers it will be extremely
difficult to continue delivery on those streets. If anyone is willing to
volunteer to deliver to these or part of a street, please give Adele a
call. Delivery of a newsletter route can be adjusted to suit.
Looking
ahead to December our Annual Community Christmas Carol Concert will be
held on Sunday December 14th at St Dunstan’s Church. Further
information will be in our next newsletter.
