With the coming of winter and the colder weather 2 road projects in our community are nearing completion. Meadowvale Road reconstruction is complete on a section of the road from Hwy 2A to Dunwatson. The entire road should be complete from Hwy 2A to Lawrence Ave by the end of the year. The reconstruction of this road is a much needed welcome improvement. Please note that the speed limit is 40 kmph and there is a new 3 way stop at Bathgate and Meadowvale. The other road improvement to be completed is the modifications to the westbound left turn lane at Port Union Road and Kingston Road and the relocation of the GO bus stop. Hopefully these changes will eliminate the backlog of left turn traffic at this intersection and facilitate eastbound right turns on to Port Union Road.
On November 14th I met with Toronto Region Conservation Authority staff to explore developing a Stewardship program for the Waterfront Trail including Adams Creek. We will be discussing this further within our community and with the Toronto Region Conservation Authority in the next few months. On December 17th our annual Community Carol Concert will be held at St Dunstan’s Church on Lawson Road starting at 7:30 p.m. This is a community event for all families to attend. Following the concert refreshments will be served in the adjacent church hall.
Winterfest will be held on Saturday January 27th, 2007. More details about this event will be in the January newsletter.
With the Christmas season approaching many of us will be gathering with family and friends to enjoy the festivities. It is a time to appreciate the peace and stability of our country. We also live in one of the best communities in Toronto. We have a strong active community association and residents who take pride in our community.
All of the executive join in wishing you a Happy and Joyous Festive Season and Best Wishes for the New Year.
